Pride Houston and COVID-19 Safety Preparedness     >>

Pride Houston understands there is much concern, and that we all have a responsibility to help slow the spread of  Covid-19 in our city.  Therefore, all in-person pride events for the year, including the Celebration and Parade, are cancelled. We must take the best course of action for the city we love, and the LGBTQ+ community. At this time, that means staying apart. Please stay tuned for news and updates about upcoming virtual events.

Stay home. Stay safe. Stay hopeful! We can get through anything as a community if we take care of each other now.

Scott Scroggins

Born and raised in Houston and a former Hawaii resident, Scott graduated from the University of Houston. He is a dog dad to three Chihuahua rescues. He enjoys traveling, cooking, EDM, spending time with family and friends, beach vacations and experiencing pride parades and festivals all over the world. Scott recalls Amsterdam as having one of the most amazing parades he has ever witnessed. It is an incredible sight to see how all the Dutch citizens join in to celebrate. Such inclusion is very moving. That’s also the reason Scott loves Houston. He admires Houston’s vast diversity, wonderful food, great shopping and the endless opportunities that the city offers to everyone.

Pride means so much to Scott because it is a time where the community unites as one and celebrates how far we have come. From the first marches of the 1970’s to today’s landmark court rulings, Scott considers Pride to be a time of remembrance, celebration and activism. He joined Pride Houston so that he can contribute to the journey we have yet to travel as a community.
