Pride Houston and COVID-19 Safety Preparedness     >>

Pride Houston understands there is much concern, and that we all have a responsibility to help slow the spread of  Covid-19 in our city.  Therefore, all in-person pride events for the year, including the Celebration and Parade, are cancelled. We must take the best course of action for the city we love, and the LGBTQ+ community. At this time, that means staying apart. Please stay tuned for news and updates about upcoming virtual events.

Stay home. Stay safe. Stay hopeful! We can get through anything as a community if we take care of each other now.

Rochelle Hudson

Rochelle Hudson prides herself on being an African American lesbian. She came out in 2005 at the age of 30. She attended her very first Pride celebration that same year. It was an amazing experience. She was in awe at seeing people from every walk of life CELEBRATING who they were and allies CELEBRATING and SUPPORTING their family and friends.

Rochelle was introduced to Pride Houston by her close sister-friend Venita Howard. She has been volunteering ever since. Being a part of this organization and all the happiness that it brings during Pride is by far her favorite part of the experience.
