Augie Cahee is a Louisiana native, but has called Houston home for almost 30 years, where she has spent more than 25 of those years working in, for, and with the LGBTQ community.

Augie has volunteered with PRIDE Houston, GLBT Political Caucus, Mayor Anise Parker’s campaign, Human Rights Campaign, Houston A.R.C.H. Augie’s main passion is empowering and educating LGBTQ youth and sat on the board of Directors for First Kids and GLSEN for more than 6 years, before recognizing a gap for homeless and incarcerated youth, which then prompted Gamma to create “L.Y.F.E.” LGBTQ Youth Finding Excellence a Mentoring, Advocacy, and Scholarship program. For the last decade, through Gamma’s mission Augie has made it her mission to stay engaged in the LGBTQ community.
