Pride Houston and COVID-19 Safety Preparedness     >>

Pride Houston understands there is much concern, and that we all have a responsibility to help slow the spread of  Covid-19 in our city.  Therefore, all in-person pride events for the year, including the Celebration and Parade, are cancelled. We must take the best course of action for the city we love, and the LGBTQ+ community. At this time, that means staying apart. Please stay tuned for news and updates about upcoming virtual events.

Stay home. Stay safe. Stay hopeful! We can get through anything as a community if we take care of each other now.

Pride Houston Seeking the Best & Brightest for 2019

Now Accepting Applications for Board and Chair Members

Houston, TX, July 20th, 2019- Pride Houston is kicking off its annual outreach effort to recruit individuals to join Pride as an organizational chair or a new member of the Board of Directors. Anyone interested from Houston’s LGBTQ+ and ally communities are welcome to apply beginning today.

In a city like Houston, a city of over 2.3 million people, an organization like Pride needs to exist to serve as a mouthpiece for our people and to provide them with what they need to live happy, healthy, secure lives,” says Lo Roberts, Board President. “But the first step to getting to that place is to diversify our organization and make sure that all people within the community—black, white, Hispanic, Asian, bisexual, intersexual,  trans, etc.—feel represented by Pride Houston.

In order to reach that goal, Pride Houston is seeking those of varied and diverse backgrounds within and alongside the LGBTQ+ community to apply. Individuals with experience in marketing,  event planning, budgets and fundraising are of special interest. The work of the Pride Houston Board of Directors and Organizational Chairs goes beyond simply planning the annual Pride Festival and Parade.  It involves donating one’s time and energies into engaging with community leaders, leading fundraising initiatives, activating community partnerships, collaborating with sponsors and partners, designing year-round community programs, and so much more.

Applications will be accepted until midnight on Saturday, August 31, 2019.
